“Awake” Trailer – I thought this was a movie
Turns out this trailer is for a TV show entitled “Awake” (more here). Love the premise, love the cast, count me in.

It’s Friday and you don’t want to work and you’re looking for a distraction? Well, look no further!
OldSpice has done a series of personalized commercials and posted them on YouTube. Simply go to this link and prepare to be amazed. Very funny, very clever and I have no doubt that I’ll be buying an Old Spice product very soon.
Got to go though. I have to create my new voice mail message!

A friend of mine recommended a new comedy from ABC called “Modern Family” and I think I owe him one. It’s cleverly written and VERY funny.
It’s done in a hybrid classic sitcom/reality show style, kind of like “The Office”, but without the awkward moments. The actors are suppose to know the camera is there, so they break the third wall, but not too much.
Whatever, stop reading this and go watch it from the beginning. You can catch it on Hulu.com for the next few weeks and below is episode 3.

I didn’t see it on TV when it occurred, but apparently Jim Cramer made an appearance on “The Daily Show with John Stewart” and didn’t fare so well, to put it mildly. There’s a lot of buzz about this on the Internet and after watching the un-edited video, I can see why.
Jim Cramer really comes off like a schmuck and an apologist. Clearly John is on his game, is firing on all cylinders and controls the conversation expertly. It reminds me of his appearance Crossfire and well worth the watch. On Crossfire, John took CNN to task and in this interview he takes CNBC to the same task. To quote Stewart, the issue is about “… what CNBC advertisers itself as and what it actually is.”
The impression that I’m left with after watching the videos is that the credibility of CNBC and more specifically Cramer’s show “Mad Money” has been flushed. It was after Stewart’s appearance on “Crossfire” that the show was cancelled. I can’t help but think that we could be seeing a repeat.
Lastly, there’s one thing that Cramer says towards the end that really sticks out and will be my take away sound bite.
“I’m a guy doing an entertainment show about business.”

I just came across this video of Craig Ferguson from his opening monologue from his show The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (tip of the hat to FiatLux, by way of GearBits), and I have to say that he really hits the nail on the head. He’s recently become a naturalized American citizen and without taking one side or the other, Craig masterfully sums up what’s happening in our culture in regards to the Presidential Election and yet does so with wit and panache.
I just stuff like this where someone speaks from the heart and tells you honestly how they feel. Having them feel the same way as I do is a nice bonus!
There’s other videos of Craig, such as his unscripted monologue regarding his own struggles with alcoholism, but don’t bother going to CBS to watch them. You’ll need RealPlayer to watch them. Seriously? RealPlayer? 1998 called and they’d like their broke ass media system back.

I came across this video of JJ Abrams giving a talk at TED and I just had to share it. For those that don’t know JJ Abrams is the genius behind, Alias, Lost, Mission Impossible III and the recently released Cloverfield. Consistent throughout all his work is that there is always an element of mystery. In his talk, he addresses why this element is so pervasive in his work and where that inspiration came from. It’s a great talk.
