Yesterday, I came across this post on NashvilleIsTalking.com about how video weblog celebrity AmandaCongdon was coming to Nashville. If you’re not familar with her work, she was the original host of the hugely popular video podcast RocketBoom.
She’s now on to bigger and better things and her current project is called Amanda Across America. She is traveling across the country from New York to L.A. and creating all sorts of new media along the way. From Flickr photos, to blogging, to video podcasts, she’s interviewing interesting people and appears to be having a lot of fun along the way.
I was all set to attend the Meetup at Mothership BBQ today, but last night I saw a note from Brittany that the lunch meetup is off. 🙁 There is still a meetup at Wolfy’s this evening, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it. I’m recording a podcast for a new project that launches on Sunday, so I have a conflict.
I was really hoping to meet her. Amanda is quite funny and has real talent in front of the camera. In watching her questioned Jeff Jarvis, I was really impressed at how well she conducted the interview. I also reached out to her to see if I could interview her for Simply Digital, but I haven’t heard back, so it looks like I’m completely striking out. Crap!
